Living Our Beliefs

In the midst of waning denominational loyalty, Bishop Carder writes movingly and reflectively about The United Methodist Church. The 12 sessions explore some of life’s deepest questions: So, is this all there is? (Introduction); Who is Jesus, and why should I care? (Jesus Christ); Why am I not where I want to be? (Sin and the Cross), and What happens when I die? (Death and Resurrection) | top

Being God's Man in the Face of Temptation (The Every Man Series)

All men are tempted to compromise. But not all men do. What makes the difference? Some men have learned the secret of being undivided between what they believe and how they actually think and live. They possess integrity. They've gained new perspectives on the trials and temptations they face, new tools to help them overcome automatic human responses to challenging situations, and new actions that produce humility and flexibility in God's strength. You, too, can be a man of such integrity. This study of the book of James will equip you to think clearly and choose wisely when dealing with temptations. | top

Testimonials

“Sometimes we just need a refresher course”
I came into this class not knowing what to expect; slipping away from the power of God. I have had so many trials and tribulations in the past two years and for a while I thought that I had exhausted the possibility of ever getting back to living life joyfully and happily. But, then this class came along and it showed me that there are many different women that have either been through what I am going through or something similar. The fellowship brought me back to "God is an awesome God." Trust His plan for you. Have a God confidence! I love Him and I know He is real. Sometimes we just need a refresher course of some sort. So, with all that said, I appreciate you all. All of your stories and input gave me Faith!

“Not Just A Job - An Opportunity To Recharge My Spiritual Batteries”
Up until recently, my day on the job was filled with a constant undercurrent of anxiety. You see, the company I work for is going through bankruptcy liquidation. As we wind down operations, the atmosphere is often charged with the fear of the unknown and the uncertainty of change. I witness coworkers losing their jobs, and/or leaving for other jobs. Another reality within this chaos is that I too have lost my job and have been staying on with one temporary assignment after another. It’s only a matter of time before the temporary assignments could run out. I was anxious with the worry of being unemployed.

Then a small group of us at the office formed a lunchtime Bible study. Our first focus topic was "The Confident Woman" where we focused on the beautiful reality that through faith in our Lord, nothing is impossible—even retaining or acquiring a job in a depressed economy! Through focus on scripture and fellowship with a wonderful group of co-workers, my faith has been ignited! My spiritual batteries have been recharged! I don't worry anymore about my job. Instead, I am excited about the next journey that the Lord will lead me to. I am grateful to my small group and to God for this liberating enlightenment and I look forward to continued growth through continued small group meetings!
