Reverend Leon Jefferson Jr. was licensed and ordained through the Evangel Association of Christian Churches and Ministries in 2004. He completed Bachelor’s and Master’s of Theology Degrees from Destiny Christian University.
He and his wife, Reverend Claudette Jefferson have been members of Hope UMC since 1987. Prior to ordination, Reverend Jefferson was a charter member of the Gospel Choir, a past chair of United Methodist Men, taught various Bible studies classes, served on Pastor Parish Relations Committee, Thoughts for Children ministry, the Intercessory Prayer Team, and the Tele-care ministry.
In addition to his assignment in Pastoral Care he is currently serving with the Spiritual Life Institute where along with his wife they provide pastoral responsibilities for Family and Marriage Ministries.
Reverend Leon is a native of Detroit, Michigan, and a graduate of Cass Technical High School. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters of Business Administration from Wayne State University. He has been married to Reverend Claudette Jefferson for 37 years. They have two adult sons, Leon III and Evan Jason.
He believes that in order to have a strong church you need to have strong families and in order to have strong families you need to have strong marriages.
