Reverend Angelo Henderson

Associate Pastor of Worship, Vision and Emerging Ministries

Reverend Angelo B. Henderson, son of Roger and Ruby Henderson, was born in Louisville, Kentucky, moving to Oakland, California as a teenager. He was an ordained deacon at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church and was ordained in ministry there under Rev. Dr. Charles G. Adams, most recently serving as Youth Church Worship Leader and a Bible teacher.

Working as deputy Detroit bureau chief of the Wall Street Journal, Angelo B. Henderson was honored with the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished feature writing. His dramatic narrative detailed the lives affected by an attempted drugstore robbery that ended in the robber’s death. Read full bio . . .

Reverend Janet Gaston Petty

Associate Pastor of Counseling & Pastoral Care

Rev. Janet Gaston Petty is a native of Detroit, Michigan. Her formative years were spent at the Scott Memorial United Methodist Church where she was baptized and nurtured in the faith. She was educated in the Detroit Public School System and a member of the 1973 Graduating Class of Cass Technical High School. She matriculated at Adrian College and transferred to Scarritt College in Nashville, Tennessee where she received her B.A. Degree in Behavioral Science in May of 1977. Upon graduation, Rev. Petty enrolled in the Master’s of Divinity program at Gammon Theological Seminary, located in Atlanta, GA. Read full bio . . .

Reverend Rosaline Green

Associate Pastor of Spiritual Life Institute

Rev. Rosaline D. Green was licensed in the year 2000, and ordained through the Evangel Association of Christian Churches and Ministries in 2003. She is currently attending Destiny School of Ministry, where she is working toward her Masters of Theology Degree, with an emphasis on Practical Ministry. She is the third generation of ministers in her family. She began her academic career at Lawrence Tech. University, where she majored in Electrical Engineering. Read full bio . . .

Reverend Timothy Wright

Associate Pastor of Outreach & Missions

Reverend Timothy D. Wright is a native of Gallatin, Tennessee and the son of Thomas and Mary Wright. He is a 1988 graduate of Gallatin Senior High School where he received the Leadership Award and the Masonic & Order of the Eastern Star Scholarship. He also attended the United States Military Academy Preparatory School in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey where he graduate and received his congressional appointment in 1989. Read full bio . . .

Reverend Claudette Jefferson

Ministerial Assistant

Reverend Claudette Jefferson was licensed and ordained through the Evangel Association of Christian Churches and Ministries in 2004. She completed Bachelor’s and Master’s of Theology Degrees from Destiny Christian University.

She and her husband, Reverend Leon Jefferson Jr. have been members of Hope UMC since 1987. Prior to ordination Reverend Jefferson was active in Missions and United Methodist Women. She was a charter member of the Gospel Choir, past Women’s Day Chairperson, served on the Thoughts for Children ministry, the Intercessory Prayer Team, and taught various Bible Study classes.

In addition to being clergy advisor to Women’s Ministries she is currently serving with the Spiritual Life Institute. Along with her husband they provide pastoral responsibilities for Family and Marriage Ministries.

Reverend Claudette holds a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work both from Wayne State University. She has been a clinician for over 25 years and has worked as such at DTE Energy, Team Mental Health Services and La Fayette Clinic, a psychiatric facility. She has been married to Reverend Leon for 37 years. They have two adult sons, Leon 111 and Evan Jason.

She believes that in order to have a strong church you need to have strong families and in order to have strong families you need to have strong marriages.

Reverend Leon Jefferson Jr.

He and his wife, Reverend Claudette Jefferson have been members of Hope UMC since 1987. Prior to ordination, Reverend Jefferson was a charter member of the Gospel Choir, a past chair of United Methodist Men, taught various Bible studies classes, served on Pastor Parish Relations Committee, Thoughts for Children ministry, the Intercessory Prayer Team, and the Tele-care ministry.

In addition to his assignment in Pastoral Care he is currently serving with the Spiritual Life Institute where along with his wife they provide pastoral responsibilities for Family and Marriage Ministries.
