
Reverend Tim WrightReverend Timothy D. Wright is a native of Gallatin, Tennessee and the son of Thomas and Mary Wright. He is a 1988 graduate of Gallatin Senior High School where he received the Leadership Award and the Masonic and Order of the Eastern Star (OES) Scholarship. He served on the Student Council and was active in sports. He was also part of the INROADS program for “talented minority youth”. After graduating from high school, he attended the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey where he graduated and received his congressional appointment to West Point in 1989. Reverend Wright is a 1993 graduate of the United States Military Academy located at West Point, New York. While at West Point, he studied Spanish at the Cuernavaca Language School in Mexico. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Latin American Studies with a concentration in Systems Engineering. Shortly after graduating, he was recognized by American Legion Post #17 and was appointed aide-de-camp to the local state senator in Tennessee. Reverend Wright served as a United States Army Officer in the Field Artillery Branch from 1993 to 1999 which includes tours in Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina and assignments at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Reverend Wright is a student at Ashland Theological Seminary where he is pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree. He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated and has served as the Chaplain of the Southfield Graduate Chapter. He is active within the community and throughout the corporate sector. He supports diversity business initiatives and economic development. Reverend Wright was married to Minister Stacy A. Wright who went home to be with the Lord in 2005. Her perseverance and her faithful service to the youth of Hope United Methodist Church will always hold a special place in his heart. Through it all, Reverend Wright has continued to put his trust in God and has devoted his life to serving God’s people. He believes that Jesus is Lord and believes in the power of the Holy Spirit. He thanks God for the redeeming blood of Jesus that keeps him covered. His mission is to live truth and speak truth while making a difference on the journey! |
