
Council on Ministries

The Council on Ministries consists of Children's, Youth, Adult,
Young Adult, Seniors, Family and other ministries as prescribed by the United
Methodist Book of Discipline 2000.
The Council on Ministries is one of the most
important committees in the church whose work is invaluable in helping the
leadership rally resources around the
implementation of current and future programs for Hope United Methodist Church.
The
Council:
- Encourages leaders to diligently execute their
basic responsibilities as committee chairpersons and members.
- Develops
an annual master calendar of church activities.
- Creatively develops
resources, which will facilitate the mission and ministry of Hope Church.
- Serves as interpreter for the ministry of Hope Church.
- Assists with encouraging
the
evaluation process of all service and program areas of the church.
- Increases connectional awareness and participation in
Detroit Conference of the United
Methodist Church.
- Facilitates and supports the creation of new
ministries, on an emerging need basis. The duties of the Council on Ministries
are cited in the 1996 Book of Discipline.
