About Us

The purpose of the Comfort Givers Ministry is to render service to Hope Church members during times of illness, the loss of loved ones, and special concerns. Comfort Givers have a unique opportunity to evangelize in visiting and calling the bereaved, sick and shut-in members of our church and community. The Comfort Givers Ministry assists families during funeral services and assists the Culinary Ministry at repasts. The Ministry shares its knowledge with other churches who are interested in starting a Comfort Givers ministry.

Mission Statement

The Comfort Givers Ministry provides comfort and support to our members and their families and friends when they experience health challenges, special concerns and/or bereavement. Our mission is to help insure that those we serve know they are loved and are comforted by our efforts.

Guiding Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1: 3 – 7

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.”

Meetings and Programs

The Comfort Givers Ministry meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p. m. The exception is August, when the Ministry breaks for the summer from meetings, but not from service to the congregation.

The Annual Memorial Service sponsored by the Comfort Givers is held in early December.
